Amplifying parent power is essential to ensuring children have access to the schools best equipped to meet their individual needs. The Fort Worth Education Partnership (F3) collaborates with charter school families and community members to engage local leaders in discussions about how to improve educational options and community involvement throughout Fort Worth, Texas.
In the fall of 2023, F3 launched a pilot Parent Advocate Leader (PAL) Fellowship to help build relationships with their parents. Using Murmuration’s tech infrastructure, F3 worked to mobilize their charter school families to get out to vote. F3 has also been able to identify parents who are not registered to vote so they can help them register. Armed with enhanced data management practices also made it easier to create a ladder of engagement, a system that helps track and increase engagement among members. Ladders of engagement help identify parents and community members who can lead outreach efforts across the organization and contact local officials.
With a clear understanding of their parent and family community, F3 now leverages Murmuration’s platform’s enhanced outreach capabilities to mobilize members to attend events such as community clean-ups and support initiatives like creating safer walkways for children to get to school. F3 also conducts targeted voter outreach efforts using our email tracking and phone banking tools.
Now that F3 is better equipped to understand and engage their community members, they can more effectively engage individuals to demand what they need in their community. Focusing on both immediate community needs and long-term educational improvement, F3 is positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Fort Worth, advocating for every child to have the opportunity to receive a great education through sustained community engagement and strategic partnerships.
