As congressional district boundaries shift across the country, staying aligned with current district-level maps is essential for effective organizing and outreach. To support partners through these changes, Organizer is releasing a new redistricting feature to keep district data accurate as boundaries evolve.
Why it Matters
Redistricting in several states, taking place outside the typical decennial census cycle, may significantly shape upcoming midterm elections. When district lines change, outdated data can limit an organization’s ability to reach the right constituents and build power locally.
To help build power in local communities, Murmuration is updating Atlas data to ensure community leaders can accurately reach and engage the right constituents as district boundaries evolve in 2026.
Organizer will reflect updated district information for states where new maps have been proposed or finalized, beginning with California, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Utah.
What’s New
- New district-level data to create accurate segments and lists as boundaries change
- Alerts during data refreshes when district information changes
To make these changes easier to understand, district data will include clear status alerts when boundaries are in flux:
- Proposed – A district boundary has been redrawn, but is not legally adopted yet.
- District Updated – A district's boundaries have been replaced based on legal adoption, and prior boundaries are no longer effective.
